2024 Summer Internship Opportunity with LeadingAge Massachusetts

LeadingAge Massachusetts is offering a remote Summer Internship opportunity. 

Position Summary:

Join our small, passionate team as a Student Intern this summer. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual to assist in research and data management projects.  Primary projects will focus on collecting information about LeadingAge MA member organizations via surveys, email, phone and virtual meetings. This position will also support ad hoc data collection and management activities and will have exposure to our Association's educational events and communications initiatives. The intern will be expected to work business hours, Monday – Thursday for 10 weeks over the summer of 2024.

Internship Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and compile data on partnerships between LeadingAge MA member communities and educational institutions through surveys, email, phone and virtual interviews.
  • Support ad hoc data collection and management activities.
  • Opportunity to assist with the Association’s educational events and communication initiatives.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in at least the Junior year of undergraduate study or graduate-level study, for the upcoming fall semester.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to speak professionally via phone and in virtual meetings.
  • Goal oriented with exceptional attention to detail,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel.  Experience with data management tools a plus.
  • Interest in learning about aging services, nonprofit management, and community partnerships.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Work Environment & Supervision

  • Expected work hours are 9 – 5 Monday through Thursday.
  • Intern will engage in remote management via Microsoft Teams.
  • Occasional in-person events are preferred, offering networking opportunities and deeper immersion into the association culture.
  • Our Newton office space is available for those who prefer an office environment.
  • This internship position reports directly to the Vice President and President of LeadingAge Massachusetts.
  • Interns will receive mentorship and guidance throughout the duration of their internship, and will have the opportunity to engage with a network of fellow interns at LeadingAge member organizations nation-wide.
